Kevin was born and raised in North Carolina and has lived in the Triangle area for 15 years. He received both a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Administration and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Public Health. Kevin has worked at Duke for the last 9 years. Five of those years were served as a Health Education Specialist for LIVE FOR LIFE, the employee health promotion program. While working for LIVE FOR LIFE, Kevin started the award winning Duke Farmers Market and managed it for five years. At Student Health, Kevin is responsible for The Oasis, a relaxing space for students on Duke’s East Campus. He also serves as a tobacco cessation specialist. Additionally, Kevin is adjunct faculty in the Department of Public Health Education at North Carolina Central University where he teaches two sections of a mandatory personal health course each semester. Kevin cares for two Jack Russell terriers, freshwater fish and a variety of plants, including orchids and fruit trees. He enjoys writing, bargain hunting, international travel and trying new and bizarre foods. Kevin also sings and writes music with a local band.
