Lindsey Bickers Bock has served as a Health Education Specialist at the Duke Student Health Center since 2005. She coordinates the Healthy Devils peer education program and serves as the advisor for DELISH.
Lindsey has a Master of Public Health, with a concentration in Health Behavior and Health Education, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in women's studies and cognitive science.
Lindsey loves working directly with students to enhance awareness and knowledge of college health issues. She has been involved with the American College Health Association for several years. During graduate school, she sat on the ACHA Board of Directors as a student representative, and she is now the secretary for the association's Coalition of Allies for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health.
Lindsey also has a special expertise in sexual and reproductive health issues. Before coming to Duke, Lindsey worked on reproductive health issues in South Africa and Ethiopia, and she also has experience providing HIV test counseling and contraceptive counseling at UNC-CH. Lindsey is available to meet with any student for a one-on-one consultation to discuss sexual decision making, contraceptive options, sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS, abnormal Pap tests, the HPV vaccine, pregnancy options and/or sexual communications.
Beyond her role as a health educator, Lindsey is also an avid reader, a cook who loves to experiment, and a group fitness instructor.
