Chickpea Dip

Ingredients

  • 3 cloves fresh garlic
  • ¼ C plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1Tbs. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tsp. olive oil
  • cTsp. salt
  • ¼ Tsp. paprika
  • 1/8 Tsp. black pepper
  • 1 (19oz ) can chickpeas, drained

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Serve with cut up fresh vegetables and/or whole wheat pita chips.*

* (note nutrition information is for dip only)

**(Although calorie and fat content may appear to be high for dips and sauces, the key is to remember that a dip or sauce is rarely eaten alone. Once you calculate in some fresh vegetables or whole grain bread the meal percentages will balance out nicely).
