What happens when you meet with a Stop Smoking Specialist?
A Stop Smoking Specialist can help you decide if you want to quit using tobacco. The benefits and reasons for quitting can be discussed, along with the reasons for smoking. She can guide you through the steps of preparing to quit by identifying triggers and developing a plan of what you are going to do when you quit smoking. You can discuss nicotine replacement therapy and Zyban®, the non-nicotine pill, to decide if one of these is right for you to help you quit. When you are ready, your Stop Smoking Specialist will help you set a quit date and guide you through the days leading up to this day. Once your quit day arrives, you will receive support through emails and 1-on-1 meetings to help you stay smoke-free. If you slip, you will have the support to get you back on track.
Do you use other forms of tobacco?
We can help you quit any form of tobacco. It doesn’t matter if someone smokes or uses chewing tobacco or dip, nicotine is a highly addictive substance and using any form of tobacco increases one’s risk of cancer.
