Student Health is fortunate to have its own in-house pharmacy and we can meet most of your prescription needs. Prescriptions are not covered by the Student Health Fee, but may be covered by your insurance plan. Be sure to bring your prescription or "drug card" so that we can file the claim for you. (If you don't provide this information you will be charged the full price of any prescription you receive.)

Prescription Renewal

If you are out of refills, you must make an appointment and see a provider to have a new prescription written. (For birth control pills, you may receive a 1-month supply from the triage nurse to hold you over until you can be seen for a physical exam including Pap smear.)

Prescription Refills

Requests for refills may be phoned in at any time using the Refill Request Line - 668-1775. You must have your prescription number available. Allow 48 hours for processing. Medications must be picked up while the pharmacy is open.  HOT TIP:  If you need to get a refill, do it early in the day or early in the week (or well before a holiday or break) - Friday's and late afternoons are generally very busy and could mean a long wait!

Cold, Allergy, and Flu Meds

Several cold, allergy, and "flu" medications are available at no charge to Duke students. These medications are available at the Student Health Center and at the East Campus Wellness Clinic.
